'A SUMMARY OF BELIEFS'

 THE GODHEAD

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT.

Deu. 4:35,39; 6:4 (Gen. 2:24 – oness in plurality); 1 John 5:7; 1 Cor. 12;3-6

The Father - Creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom and measureless in power (the Son and theHolySpirit also have these divine attributes). We rejoice that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. James 1:17-18; Mat. 5:48; Ps. 2:2; John Chapter 17;

The Son - Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of Mary* (while a virgin), sinless in His life, and making atonement for the sin of the world by His shed blood and death on the cross. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, and His high priestly intercession for Christians. His personal, visible and triumphant return to the world according to His promise. Isa. 9:6; Matt. 1:18-25; John 1:14; Heb. 10:7; John 1:29; 1 John 2:1-2; John 14:3; 1 Thes. 4:15-17; Acts 1:11; 4:12 (Mary* later had four sons and at least three daughters to Joseph – Mat. 13:55-57; Gal. 1:19)

The Holy Spirit (the third Person of the Godhead) - who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and regenerates, sanctifies, and comforts those who believe (trust) in Jesus Christ. John 16:7-11; Luke 11:13; 1 Cor. 12:13; 2 Thes. 2:13; Ps. 51:11

THE SCRIPTURES

The Scriptures of the Old Testament(39 books) and New Testament (27 books) are verbally inspired of God, and are the supreme and final authority in faith and life. 2 Tim. 3:14-17; 2 Pet. 1:19-21; Acts 17:11,12; 18:24-28; Ps. 12:6,7;Lk. 24:27

The King James Bible (1611,1769), based on the Masoretic and Received Texts, is the preferred Bible in the English Language.

MANKIND

Man was created in the image of God, he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. All human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, and are captive to Satan’s kingdom unless saved.

Gen. 1:27; 2:7,21-23; Ps. 51:5,6; Ro. 3:10-12; 2 Tim. 2:25-26

SALVATION

All who repent and receive, by faith, Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord are born again of the Holy Spirit and, therefore, become children of God. Justification declares a Christian righteous in the sight of God, by grace through faith, in Christ alone. We are sanctified (made holy), and receive ongoing sanctification through continuous obedience to God's will; by studying the Scriptures, and being led by the Holy Spirit in our gifts and calling. John 14:6; John 1:12-13; 2 Pet. 3:9; Eph. 1:3-14 (Ro. 3:20; 6:15); 2:1-10; 2 Tim. 2:11-16; Phil. 2:1-5; 1 Cor. 10:13); Eph. 1:13; 4:30

THE CHURCH

The Church is a living, spiritual body in which Christ is the Head and of which all regenerated people are members. A visible church (local church) is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, buried with Him in baptism and associated for the purpose of leading believers toward maturity through worship, instruction, fellowship and evangelism.Christ has committed to the local church, the practices of Baptism and Communion to be observed until He comes, and that Christ has committed to the church the responsibility to proclaim to a lost world their need to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and to recognize Him as Lord. Each local church has Elders and Deacons. Each fellowship is independent and autonomous, and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority We also believe that it is the responsibility of the church (individually and corporately) to live in submission to the government - as long as that does not violate Scripture or conscience - and to pray for those who are in authority over us.(1 Tim. 2:1-3) Eph. 1:22-23; Ro. 6:3-5; Acts 8:36,37,38; 1 Cor. 11:23-26; Rom. 10:14,15; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Pet. 5:1; 1 Tim. 3:3:1-13

ISRAEL

God chose Abraham to be the progenitor of Israel. He has pledged everlasting covenants with Abraham and his Israelite descendants, whose tribes will occupy the land of Israel in the Millennium, from the Nile to the Euphrates. The present State of Israel has been divinely established as a Jewish (Israelite) nation in which a remnant will be saved during the Great Tribulation

Gen. 12:1-3; 15:18; 17;1-21; Ex. 2;24; 31;16-17; Deut. 7:6-8; Ro. Chs.9-11; Zech. 12:2-10; 13:8-9: Jer 31:31-40

THE SAVED AND THE UNSAVED IN ETERNITY

There will be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost. Mat. 25:31-46; 2 Pet. 2:4-7; 2 Cor. 5:1,2; Col. 1:4,5; Phil. 2:10-16

HOW TO RECEIVE SALVATION

You Must Be Born Again”

God is Holy – Mankind is Sinful

1 Samuel 2:2. “There is non holy as the LORD…”

Romans 3:23. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”

1 John 1:8. “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us”

 Realizing Our Need For Salvation

Jeremiah 17:9. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked,

who can know it”

John 16:8. “And when the Holy Spirit is come, he will reprove the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment”

Revelation 20:15. “And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”

Salvation Only Through the Lord Jesus Christ

John 14:6. “And Jesus says to him, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life: no man comes to the Father but by me’

Daniel 3:25 (Isaiah 43:2,3). “…Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God”

Salvation Is Not To Be Put-Off Until Later

Isaiah 55:6. “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near”

Proverbs 27:1. “Boast not thyself of tomorrow, for thou know not what a day will bring forth”

Your Essential Participation In Salvation - Repentance and Faith

Repentance: Being remorsefully sorry; turning away from your sins; and confessing to God that you are a sinner.

Ezekiel 18: 30. “…Repent and turn yourselves from all your transgressions, so iniquity will not be your ruin”

Psalm 139:23,24. “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me and know my thoughts. And see if there is any wicked way in me; and lead me in the way everlasting”

2 Corinthians 7:10. “For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, not to be regretted afterwards: but the sorrow of the world works death”

Faith: Believing, and confessing with your mouth that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and was raised from the dead according to the Scriptures.

Luke 2:29 – 33. “Lord, now let thy servant depart in peace according to thy word. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thy have prepared before the face of all people; a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. And Joseph and Jesus’ mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Jesus”

John 11:25. “Jesus said to Martha, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”

Romans 10:9,10. “…if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”

If the Holy Spirit (God) is working in your life, convicting you of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:7 – 11), this tract may encourage you to take those vital steps toward salvation (being born again).

Do not be discouraged by present circumstances or past failures.

Romans 5:8.“But God commends his love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”

You can be born-again at any moment of the day, in your own home or elsewhere. Christians, and circumstances can be influential in your path to salvation, but the Holy Spirit will have the over-all influence in guiding you, and effecting your salvation. Don’t be pressured into “attending” meetings and services, or “making a decision for Christ” No church, religious organization, or person can give you salvation.

John1:12,13.But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

A suggested prayer: Heavenly Father, I realize that I am a sinner. I want to live a new life with Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord, empowered by the Holy Spirit to overcome sin, and enjoy friendship and fellowship with born-again brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen
